Cynthia Ann Crawford, born on February 20, 1966 was an American model, actress and TV host. In the 1980s and 1990s she was a well-known supermodel who was prominent on magazines and runways as well as in fashion campaigns. Later, she ventured into acting and started a business. She received a call in her sophomore year from a local clothes shop regarding modeling. However, it was viewed as an unintentional joke from two of her classmates. Crawford was employed by a different store the following year to model. The store also hosted a fashion shoot. Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford in her junior year to shoot her. The shoot was an interview with Crawford to be published in the magazine. [9] The photo as well as the positive comments received from her were enough to encourage her to begin modeling. At first, she worked with a small modeling agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after she signed. When she was 17 years old, she was a participant in Elite's Look of the Year contest and advanced to the finals at national level.
