Liza Snyder

Snyder is a native of Northampton, Massachusetts. Her father is an Associate Professor of Theatre and of music at Smith College. She has maternal grandparents who were a five-time Academy Award winning composer Johnny Green, and the actress and consumer reporter, Betty Furness. Snyder completed her studies at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City, where she studied under Sanford Meisner. Snyder started her acting career with television dramas like The Trials of Rosie O'Neill or Murder, She Wrote. In 1993, she secured the main role of Molly Whelan in the ABC and later the syndicated crime show Sirens. The show was cancelled in 1993, she starred in two movies on television and also guest-starred on Chicago Hope and Pacific Blue. From 1998 until in 2000, she appeared as a a regular cast member in the NBC sitcom Jesse starring Christina Applegate. Her first big screen appearance was the supporting role in Pay It Forward which was directed by Mimi Leder. Snyder made her debut on screen as Christine Hughes, a CBS sitcom Yes, Dear, later in the same year. The series ended its run in 2006. ended. Snyder was on hiatus of five years following Yes, Dear. Then, in 2011, Snyder returned on the screen, this time in a guest staring role as a patient undergoing lung transplantation in the show House.
