Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. When her father's divorce from her family, she was grew to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. As a young infant, Ford struggled with anxious disorders, obsessive/compulsive and was afflicted by the word association. Ford began to become interested in acting during her teens, and enrolled in the National Youth Theatre. She got into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. After just a month, she decided that it wasn't suitable for her. Ford later applied for a spot for the Central School of Speech and Drama and was admitted on her fourth attempt. Shaun Dingwall was one of Ford's fellow students. Shaun Dingwall went on to get frequent roles on the show as Pete Tyler and Doctor Who. Ford was not able to finish her studies until 1993. But, by 1991, Ford had made her first appearance on TV in an episode of Surgical Spirit. At that point, Ford adopted the stage name Catherine Tate. Through the Nineties, Tate could be found on TV in shows including The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. Apart from her regular stage work, Tate was a part of in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. Tate became famous for her stand-up comedies, that were added to Tate's repertoire in 1996.
